On the shores of Dahong Mountain, warmth and vitality abound. The upgrading and transformation of a cultural tourism road has spurred the flourishing of professional sporting events and the tourism industry. With the road open, the mountains awaken, and homesickness finds its home. The mountains and rivers bear witness, and finance keeps its promise. Bank of China continuously innovates its financial products and services, empowering the high-quality development of cultural tourism.

Paving the way to prosperity: Giving a home to homesickness

Nestled amidst the towering peaks of Dahongshan Mountain in Suizhou, Hubei Province, a "Road to Happiness" winds its way through verdant hills and clear waters, connecting the picturesque scenery with the everyday life of villages. "Now, thanks to the increased income from the scenic area's operations, many people's wallets are bulging," said a local villager. Addressing the financing challenges faced by the Dahongshan Scenic Area's cultural tourism road upgrade project, the Bank of China proactively reached out, introduced an ecological assessment system, and precisely matched a 250 million yuan credit line, providing financial support for transforming this once impassable barrier into a thoroughfare.

“Only when the descendants of stonemasons who left their hometowns pick up their ancestral chisels again can life truly continue.” With this deep affection for their homeland, sisters Xiang Hui and Xiang Tao returned to Qingtaiping Town in Badong County, determined to revitalize their hometown through an ancient village restoration project. However, to renovate the old houses and attract tourists, the first problem to solve was the winding, rugged path leading to their homes. Faced with a funding gap for widening the road and strengthening the foundation, their dream seemed to stall in the face of reality. At this critical moment, the Bank of China, leveraging its “culture + tourism + finance + township” model, innovatively launched the “Badong Homestay Loan.” Within just one day of application, 500,000 yuan was successfully deposited into their accounts. This timely financial assistance not only paved the way into the mountains but also gave these young people the confidence to stay and continue their journey.

Revitalizing the Canal Water: Connecting Cultural Heritage with the World

Yangzhou owes its existence and prosperity to the Grand Canal. As the only prefecture-level city in China whose entire territory is included in the core area of the Grand Canal Cultural Heritage Protection and Utilization Plan, how can the ancient canal be revitalized?

Bank of China uses the construction of the Grand Canal culture as a "thread" to connect a "chain" of financial services. Through continuous and in-depth cooperation with leading cultural and tourism enterprises in Yangzhou, Bank of China has been deeply involved in projects such as the construction of the Grand Canal Grand Theatre, the renovation of Shaobo Ancient Town, and the ecological improvement of Gaoyou East Lake Scenic Area, providing a total of over 3 billion yuan in credit support. In particular, in the South-to-North Water Diversion East Route Source Wetland Park Improvement Project, financial support has helped to continuously improve the water quality at the confluence of the Huai River and the Yangtze River, turning the vision of "clear water and green banks" into reality.

Furthermore, as the only banking institution among the members of the World Canal Cities Cooperation Organization, the Bank of China has participated in the World Canal Cities Forum for five consecutive years. From project financing to cross-border services, it has continuously told the story of canals and finance on the international stage, using the power of finance to build a "bridge" for dialogue between canal culture and the world.

Drawing a "Mountain Dwelling Picture": Transforming Ecology into Business Models

"Viewed from the side, it's a range of peaks; viewed from the front, it's a single peak; its appearance varies depending on distance and elevation." A journey through mountains and rivers has earned Lushan Mountain in Jiangxi Province its reputation and brought opportunities for industrial upgrading. Leveraging Lushan's unique resource advantages, the Bank of China actively explored the integration and innovation of "finance + culture + ecology," providing 60 million yuan in credit support to a construction company in Lushan City. This support facilitated the implementation of projects such as "Protection of the Five Old Peaks Natural Relics," "Renovation of Traditional Villages," and "Rural Living Environment Improvement," both preserving the millennia-old cultural heritage and enhancing the visitor experience.

In Lushan West Sea, to address the aging of the scenic area's main water transport equipment, the Bank of China successfully approved a 150 million yuan fixed asset loan to support new energy vessels. This initiative not only increased transport capacity but also significantly reduced carbon emissions, promoting the green transformation of the scenic area's water transport. In Wuyuan, known as "China's Most Beautiful Countryside," the Bank of China has provided a total of 480 million yuan in loan support to the construction of the Wunvzhou Resort Area. Meanwhile, as the exclusive partner bank for the scenic area's full-scenario payment processing business, since 2024, merchants in the scenic area have accumulated over 170 million yuan in transaction volume, effectively boosting consumption in the scenic area through merchant development.
