From January 6 to 7, Chen Huaiyu, Chairman of the Export-Import Bank of China, conducted a working visit to Thailand. During his visit, he met with Zhang Jianwei, Chinese Ambassador to Thailand; held talks with Sompong Pathanaliyangkul, Deputy Permanent Secretary and Head of Information Technology at the Ministry of Energy of Thailand; Sirivat Chedesi, Deputy Director General of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand; Dhanin Chearavanont, Senior Chairman of Charoen Pokphand Group; and Chen Zhishen, President of Bangkok Bank; and also held discussions with representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises in Thailand.
During talks with the Thai Ministry of Energy and the National Electricity Authority, Chairman Chen Huaiyu stated that as a financial institution focused on supporting foreign trade and investment development and international economic cooperation, the Export-Import Bank of China attaches great importance to financing cooperation with Thailand in the energy sector. In the future, it is willing to actively address Thailand's financial needs in achieving carbon neutrality and energy transition, with a focus on supporting the construction of new energy projects and contributing to Thailand's green and sustainable development.
△ Talks held with Thailand's Charoen Pokphand Group
During the meeting with Thailand's Charoen Pokphand Group, Chairman Chen Huaiyu pointed out that the Export-Import Bank of China is committed to supporting the sound operation and healthy development of multinational enterprises. It is willing to leverage its own advantages to provide Charoen Pokphand Group with diversified and customized financial services in the fields of agriculture, new energy, digital economy, and financial innovation, so as to promote the pragmatic cooperation between the two parties to a new level.
During his meeting with Bangkok Bank of Thailand, Chairman Chen Huaiyu emphasized that the Export-Import Bank of China has always taken it as its mission to deepen the traditional friendship between China and Thailand and promote bilateral economic and trade investment cooperation. He expressed his hope to strengthen cooperation with Bangkok Bank in areas such as international settlement, financial connectivity, and trade finance, to jointly serve cross-border trade between the two countries and promote the high-quality development of the Belt and Road Initiative.

During a meeting with representatives of Chinese-funded enterprises in Thailand, Chairman Chen Huaiyu listened to their questions about the opportunities, challenges, and related financial needs they faced in expanding their overseas business. He stated that the Export-Import Bank of China will continue to leverage its expertise to improve the quality and efficiency of cross-border financial services, providing stable and sustainable financial support for enterprises' overseas development, and working together to expand new avenues for bank-enterprise cooperation.
