Recently, the Bank of China held a briefing session to study and implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee. Ge Haijiao, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the Bank, delivered a briefing on studying and implementing General Secretary Xi Jinping's important speech at the plenary session and the "Suggestions of the CPC Central Committee on Formulating the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development," in conjunction with the implementation of the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference.
Ge Haijiao stated that all Party organizations and cadres at all levels of the bank must adhere to the responsibilities and positioning of a large state-owned commercial bank, focusing on the strategic tasks and major initiatives of the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, continuously identifying entry points for contributing to China's modernization, and the points of convergence between implementing the Party Central Committee's deployment and achieving high-quality development, thus promoting the bank's reform and development steadily and rapidly towards innovation and excellence. They must focus on unswervingly promoting high-quality development, demonstrating new responsibilities in assisting the construction of a modern industrial system, accelerating high-level technological self-reliance, and accelerating the comprehensive green transformation of economic and social development. They must serve the accelerated construction of a new development pattern, achieving new progress in serving the construction of a strong domestic market, building a high-level socialist market economy system, and expanding high-level opening-up. They must focus on promoting common prosperity for all people, introducing new measures in supporting agricultural and rural modernization, optimizing regional economic layout, stimulating cultural innovation and creativity, and guaranteeing and improving people's livelihoods. They must better coordinate development and security, achieving new results in integrating into the modernization of the national security system and capabilities, and serving the realization of the centenary goal of the People's Liberation Army.
Ge Haijiao emphasized that upholding and strengthening the Party's overall leadership is the fundamental guarantee for advancing Chinese-style modernization. Party organizations at all levels throughout the bank must uphold and strengthen the Party's overall leadership, improve the mechanism for implementing the major decisions and deployments of the Party Central Committee, implement the Party's leadership in all aspects of corporate governance, ensure the implementation of major political tasks such as the rectification of issues identified in the central inspection, and effectively transform the political advantages of the Party's leadership into governance effectiveness. We must persistently advance the comprehensive and strict governance of the Party, unremittingly use Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era to unite and inspire the Party, firmly establish a correct orientation in personnel selection, further strengthen the Party's organizational system, and relentlessly implement the spirit of the Central Committee's Eight-Point Regulation and promote the normalization and long-term effectiveness of style construction. We must fully mobilize the enthusiasm, initiative, and creativity of the entire bank, strengthening ideological guidance while also focusing on capacity building, strictly managing while also showing warm care, and rigorously assessing while also scientifically evaluating, to stimulate the innovative and creative vitality of cadres and form a powerful synergy to promote high-quality development.
