Specifically, reduce maritime pilotage service fees by at least 10% for all vessels flying the Vietnamese flag, especially oil tankers.

This is a practical solution that helps share the difficulties faced by maritime transport businesses in the current period, contributing to ensuring smooth transport operations and stabilizing the supply of goods and energy for the economy. Through this, it demonstrates the spirit of solidarity and responsibility of the Vietnamese maritime industry in the face of the complex fluctuations of the global situation.

The Vietnam Maritime Safety Corporation announced that this reduction will be applied by the Northern and Southern Maritime Pilotage Companies from April 1st to May 1st.

Amidst the complex situation in the Middle East and rising fuel and transportation costs, the operations of Vietnam's maritime fleet are under considerable pressure, particularly in the Strait of Hormuz region. Many ships have had to adjust their routes, facing security risks and increased operating costs, directly impacting supply chains and import-export activities.

In light of this situation, the Ministry of Construction has issued a document requesting relevant agencies to coordinate support for the safe operation of Vietnamese vessels, while also calling on businesses in the maritime sector to join hands in sharing the difficulties. One notable solution is to call for a reduction in maritime pilotage service fees to help lower logistics costs and support businesses in maintaining production and business operations.
