White House and U.S. Energy The latest statement from the department shows that, including Microsoft Google, Nvidia 24 leading artificial intelligence companies, including The company has signed an agreement with the U.S. government to join Genesis . The initiative, launched by the White House, aims to promote the application of emerging technologies in scientific exploration and energy projects.
On that day, industry participants, including U.S. Energy Secretary Chris Wright, U.S. Under Secretary of Energy for Science and Genesis, Darío Gil, and White House Office of Science and Technology Policy Director Michael Kratsios, met at the White House to launch a public-private innovation partnership in the field of artificial intelligence technology. The aim was to ensure the establishment of a scalable national infrastructure to drive scientific progress at an unprecedented pace and ensure that the benefits of artificial intelligence reach the entire nation.

Kratsios stated, "The 24 new research collaborations announced today are just the beginning. We will follow President Trump's directives to include the entire scientific community, including businesses, universities, nonprofits, and federal agencies, in the Genesis Initiative."
“Using cutting-edge artificial intelligence to advance scientific research will greatly enhance the productivity of American researchers. The Genesis program will help American scientists automate experimental design, accelerate simulation processes, and generate predictive models, thereby achieving breakthroughs in fields such as energy, manufacturing, and drug development,” Kratsios said.
Last month, US President Trump announced the plan through an executive order, which aims to strengthen coordination among government departments’ research efforts and more efficiently integrate artificial intelligence tools to achieve more scientific breakthroughs.
Kratsios stated at the time that the plan would integrate computing resources from the Department of Energy's national laboratories, utilize federal datasets, and drive more AI-based experiments. He predicted this move would shorten the scientific discovery cycle.
However, officials also recognize that the massive computing resources required for the development of artificial intelligence rely on energy-intensive data centers. Therefore, they are actively seeking to develop new energy sources. And upgrade the power grid.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, all the partner organizations that signed the memorandum of understanding as of this Thursday have expressed their intention to cooperate with the Department of Energy through the Information Request for Comments (IRP) or are already working with the Department of Energy and national laboratories on Genesis-related projects. These 24 companies include (listed alphabetically):
Accenture AMD, Anthropic, Armada, Amazon AWS, Cerebras, CoreWeave, Dell, DrivenData, Google, Groq, HPE IBM, Intel Microsoft , Nvidia , OpenAI, Oracle , Periodic Labs, Palantir, Project Prometheus, Radical AI, xAI, XPRIZE.
Since Trump returned to the White House earlier this year, he has prioritized fostering the artificial intelligence industry and announced several policies aimed at streamlining the construction of AI infrastructure and technology development. At the same time, the White House is also working to restrict state-level regulations, arguing that these regulations would burden businesses.
However, AI critics point out that due to the slow pace of federal legislation, state-level regulations are needed to address pressing issues such as biased content, deepfakes, and user security risks.
