Ray Dalio, founder of the globally renowned hedge fund Bridgewater Associates, recently announced on social media the launch of version 1 of his AI clone, called "Digital Ray".

Dalio believes that the most exciting thing is the fusion of intelligent individuals and intelligent AI, which can make decisions that conform to individual values, principles and preferences, even better than the individual's wishes, and will enable them to have unlimited conversations with people they previously had no time to communicate with.

Furthermore, he pointed out that when discussing investments with his AI clone, it achieves 80% of the effect of the real person, and when discussing life and work, it reaches as high as 95%.

Dalio stated that AI clones are a natural extension of his work over the past 40 years, and also the most exciting extension.

He mentioned that since founding Bridgewater Associates 50 years ago, he has been building a computer decision-making system that can operate according to his will. Now, he writes, "I hope that the AI clone will eventually be combined with my other decision-making systems to become a super-intelligent thinking partner that can serve both me and others, sharing what it has learned, done, and thought, and passing on what can bring value to others."

In addition, Dalio specifically explained the difference between "AI clones" and AI large language models (LLMs).

He pointed out that AI clones merely replicate the mindset of a specific person, including unique values, perspectives, preferences, and reflective abilities; in contrast, while large models are excellent products composed of numerous sources, they lack philosophical wisdom, imagination, or unconventional thinking. Furthermore, large models contain many errors and misleading content.

However, he mentioned that AI clones are currently in the early stages of development, and many different individuals and companies are experimenting with them. While existing cloned robots... It looks quite appealing, but it still hasn't been able to engage in a deep dialogue with users.

He also believes that training AI clones to master all the thought processes of the cloned person is a daunting task that the creators have not yet completed.

When discussing investments, I can achieve 80% of the desired effect.

As for its first AI clone, Dalio indicated that it can already have a basic conversation with people, as he and his colleagues have been testing it for two years to see how its answers compare to those it provides.

According to testers, when discussing life and work, Dalio's AI clone performed at approximately 95% of the level of his own conversations, indicating that the AI clone had received excellent training regarding Dalio's principles of life and work.

When discussing markets, investments, economics, politics, and geopolitics, the effect is roughly equivalent to 80% of talking to Dalio himself. I am currently undergoing relevant training and expect to be able to talk to others in these areas as well as he does soon.

Dalio stated that he hopes through more training, the AI clone will be able to handle many complex problems more quickly, adding, "It will do a better job than I do."
