“We are currently in what may be the largest wave of technology development in history. The industry as a whole is doing well, and there are a large number of users using ChatGPT, Claude, and other existing AI services,” Balaban said.

Balaban also stated that this collaboration will continue the long-standing partnership between the two companies since 2018.

However, the specific transaction amount was not disclosed in the agreement announcement.

Founded in 2012, Lambda provides cloud services and software for training and deploying artificial intelligence models, serving more than 200,000 developers, and also rents out servers powered by NVIDIA graphics processing units.

According to the agreement, the relevant AI infrastructure will be powered by tens of thousands of NVIDIA GPUs, including the NVIDIA GB300 NVL72 system. Lambda will leverage NVIDIA GPUs and the AI ​​software stack to provide high-performance training and inference services to Microsoft Azure customers .

“We like Nvidia’s products,” Balaban said. “They have the best accelerator products on the market.”

Balaban also stated that Lambda currently operates dozens of data centers. In the future, they will not only continue to lease data centers , but also plan to build their own infrastructure.

In early October, Lambda announced plans to open an artificial intelligence factory in Kansas City in 2026. The factory will initially have a computing capacity of 24 megawatts, which could potentially expand to over 100 megawatts in the future.

Over the past few months, large AI computing power orders have emerged in the global market, with several companies announcing related news on Monday alone.

On that day, Amazon , the world's largest cloud computing platform AWS announced a $38 billion computing power contract with OpenAI. Additionally, Microsoft announced a $9.7 billion computing power contract with Australian cloud service provider IREN.
